I’m sorry, I don’t usually do this. I really don’t. At least I hope I don’t whinge. I hate whinging.
Anyway, I caught a cold-like thing when I went to Vegas 3 months ago. It got a bit better over Christmas, and then it came back at the start of January. I have had a sore throat, a headache and a minor off and on fever for 2 months. I constantly feel like I’m on the verge of getting sick. I buy 2 bags of cough drops a week. (On a day like yesterday, when Delta eats the 2 bags of cough drops, I buy 4 bags)
I went to see my GP. My throat is fine, my ears are clear, my glands are fine, my adenoids are normal and I don’t have tonsils. I don’t have any sort of infection. Which means I have a virus. There’s nothing anyone can do.
It could last for another 2 months.
I’m so very tired of this.

Poor Mrs. Spit! Whinge away!
My husband would tell you to take ecchinacea and zinc! Or Airborne.
Feel better soon…
I’ve found some relief by using a humidifier near my bed at night. It really helped me with the sore throat and sinus pain. I live in NC which is muggy as hell all summer, but the indoors is completely dry in the winter.
Delta must have lovely breath. Being sick stinks, I’m sorry! Whinge all you want.
Hope you feel better soon.
Gosh, you poor baby. So sorry for the virus, hope you feel better soon.
Is there ANYTHING that Delta Won’t EAT?????
She puts a garbage disposal to shame.
ugh! that sucks!! The only thing that keeps the constant need for cough drops in my world is saline drops all day. hope you are feeling better SOON!
maybe you actually have an allergy….
hope you feel better soon.
That must be so frustrating!
So, for some reason I can’t find your address to email you in response to your comment on my blog today. Mine is littlebluebirdsfly@gmail.com, if you wouldn’t mind writing with some info/ guidance. I obviously was induced with the twins, but I expect this time to be different given the size and gestational age of the baby, if nothing else. Thanks!
Oh no. I think this deserves more than two minutes of whinging. For months of illness?
Get better soon.
Well, that’s the pits. Cook up a chicken for broth. Soak in a warm bath nightly. Eat no sugar (i.e. cough drops). I once saw a health film during a hospital stay that mentioned sugar reduces the ability of white blood cells to fight off infection. Just a thought. Hope you are up and on the mend totally…SOOON!
Whinge away woman! Two months of cold symptoms? Heck. I’m whining my head off because I’ve been sick since last Thursday, pushing on and pushing on, and finally succumbing completely on Monday. Today is only Wednesday. I can’t breathe through my nose. I’m whining like all get out. I believe if you cannot breathe through your nose, all limits on complaining are lifted. Coughing though. Coughing is bad. I never found that cough drops are all that helpful. If you chest feels tight, congested, try guaifenesin. That thins things out so you can cough things up. Keep it away from Delta, however. And thinking on it, if you’re hacking away uncontrollable, all limits on whinging are likewise lifted.
There you have it. The rules of whining/whinging according to Debby.
If you say it in a dramatic voice, it sounds impressive:
Virii to the rescue!!!!
Get well soon dear, having a sick partner is almost as bad as being sick oneself.
Ugh. So sorry, Mrs. Spit. Remember, lots of Vitamin C and drink lots of fluids! I truly hope you start to feel better … soon!
Ugh. Hope you’re feeling better soon, Mrs. Spit! (And how’s Delta after eating all those cough drops??!)
I feel you. I hope you feel better soon!!
(What flavor of cough drop does Delta prefer??)
That is definitely whinge-worthy. Hubby had a cold like that one year that refused to completely go away. Of course, it came on after he jumped into a swimming pool in his undies in November while extremely intoxicated. Overall, the outcome could have been much worse for such poor decision making.
You haven’t been skinny dipping have you?!?!
