Monday Miscellany

  • I made it through yesterday. That’s enough said about that.
  • Mr. Spit bought me a camera. I have a camera (in fact, the house has 6 cameras) I wanted a camera that was small enough to fit into a pocket or my purse. I have a great one now.
  • I gardened.
  • My parsley died over the winter. I ask you, how does parsley die? I can’t believe I am going to have to go and buy parsley.
  • I have a very large, very healthy, very remarkable plant in my sun garden. In fact, it’s so remarkable that people keep asking me about it. The problem is that I have absolutely no idea what on earth it is. None. I hate when that happens.
  • We went to go and see Iron Man 2 on Saturday night. It was everything it should have been. It had fights and explosions and gadgetry and a Russian villain (I am sad about the shortage of Russian villains since the end of the Cold War. I’ve always liked an evil Russian villain). It also has Robert Downey Jr. without his shirt on, if you are into that sort of thing.
  • Bed time is going not badly. But I’m curious. Do you let yourself stay up later on the weekends?

I made it through too. We also went to see Iron Man 2. I thought there were just a few too many characters to keep track of, but it was lots of fun. : )

I try to stay up later on weekends, but sometimes my body just won’t let me. :p

If you have no idea what the plant is, it’s clearly a weed. Unfortunately.

I generally want to go to sleep at my usual time on weekends (and my weekends are 3 days, which makes it worse), but I generally fail at doing so. However, since I get to sleep an hour later, it’s pretty much even.

    Glad you made it through…

Mickey Rourke is a pretty all-round awesome villian. He’s like the go-to guy when you need a capital B Bad Dude.

I think my mint died over the winter and my yarrow definitely did (it wasn’t even rooted: when I tried to eliminate the dead parts, I realized it all was dead). I think the successive thaws and freezes here just teased all the plants out of their winter dormancy just to smack ’em with cold too many times.

  4. I am glad you got a new camera and some gardening time in.
    Thankful you got through yesterday.
Yes, a shirtless Robert Downey sounds very appealing.
I’ve never grown parsley, my lettuce, tomato, and herb seeds are all sprouting nicely.

Saw Iron Man 2 also. I agree with you on the Russian villians!

    Bad, parsley, bad!

Yes, I tend to be a bad person and stay up a lot later than I should on the weekends. Partially cuz my husband is more of a night owl–partially cuz, well, its the weekend, damn it! 🙂

  6. Sharon says:

My husband and I saw “Date Night” over the week-end, and I laughed so hard my stomach hurt. We stay up way too late on the week-ends ~ me because I am such a night owl all the time, and my husband because he goes to bed earlier during the week and would like to stay up with me. You and your readers have me thinking about this whole issue, and I have heard that you are healthier/live longer if you get at least 7 hours of sleep.

  7. Mmmm … a shirtless Robert Downey Jr. Oh yes, I like that sort of thing … LOL!

As for staying up on the weekends. Well, my nights and days have been starting to blend into one another, seeing that there’s no job for me to go to daily.

But if there was, I’d definitely be staying up later on the weekends … which, to me, would equate to 2 am or later; seeing that I typically stay up until 12 am on any given night!

BTW, go see Date Night. There’s another shirtless guy there that would also be “yummy” to see. If you’re into that. 🙂

    Yay for cameras and gardening!

I am really looking forward to seeing Iron Man 2.

    Glad you survived Sunday.

Hm, will have to put Iron Man 2 on my netflix. Sometimes the sequels arent as good so I like to wait and see..

Post a picture, taken with your new camera of course, of the mystery plant!!! And you can have some of my ginormous parsley….

I like to go to bed the same time and wake up at the same time – even on weekends. Triple S always hated both! He likes to stay up late on the weekends and sleep in – he even thinks he can still do that now! I am going to bed with Bea when the sun is still shining… and I think for me it has always been easier to catch up on my sleep if I go to bed early rather than sleeping in – better for health!

thinking of you, Mr Spit, and Gabe

  10. Jamie says:

Russian do make great villians. Is there anyone who ~isn’t~ in to Robert Downey Jr with his shirt off?!?!

  11. debby says:

See Death at a Funeral. That’s hilarious. And there’s a naked guy on a roof. Two of them actually. If you’re into that sort of stuff.

  12. Virginia says:

My husband also planted parsley, though some of it was supposed to be basil. We’re not sure how that happened.

And a shirtless Robert Downey, Jr.? Oh my, yes.
