It feels like home to me, it feels like home to me
It feels like I’m all the way back where I come from
It feels like home to me, it feels like home to me
It feels like I’m all the way back where I belong
(in case you were wondering where I was . . .)
Need more room for books. Let’s build floor to ceiling book shelves. (Note the classy “crown moulding”)
This ceiling is really ugly. It has to go. Can’t stand it. We should totally rip down that really ugly acoustic tile. I hate the acoustic tile.
Hmmm. We know why there was acoustic tile. Add re-drywall ceiling to list. Right below the item marked “learn to drywall”
Oh look, we added re-drywall walls to the list (Seeing as Mr. Spit was all practiced up now). Dinning room not exactly fit for company, unless the company is used to eating off sawhorses.
And. . . . living room is not fit for company either, unless the company is used to moving around power tools.
And live able space in the living room. Note the absence of lumber and the lack of router table on the couch.
And finally, attractive ceiling. (Which really was the major motivation for the project, if you are me. . .)
oooh I love those book shelves! They are gorgeous. Good job to Mr Spit! Ans I love the dark red you chose for the walls. You must feel pretty content to have your house back!
I LOVE the red.
Bookshelves look good but I hate that they always seems kind of messy even when they’re well organized.
Fabulous job!! We desperately need some new bookshelves too. Any chance you & Mr. Spit will be heading east anytime soon?? ; )
Wow, great job! I love the Before and After pictures. It looks wonderful and you never can have too many bookshelves.
Awesome work! It looks beautiful! Don’t you love how one home improvement project triggers more?
Looks remarkably like the state of my house lately! No wonder I felt so comfortable with the saw in the middle of the room.
Nice job!
Wow.. IMPRESSIVE!
And LOVE the books..
Wow! What a great job!
Right now I’m sitting at a half-finished counter that has been this way for well over a year. Any chance I can convince you and Mr. Spit to come over and work your magic?
I’m very, very impressed. Wow.
looks amazing! have fun enjoying those books!
Well done! It’s beautimous!
Awesome renovation. I love the red color. You guys did a wonderful job!
Love the renovations (I missed you — glad to see you were only knee-deep in dust ;)!) The ceiling looks amazing.
holy crap you did all this this weekend???
awesome job!! your house looks sooo nice!!!
Lookin GOOD
If I lived close I’d invite myself over to dinner, as a sort of ‘housewarming’ (or dining-room-living-room warming?)
May the honeymoon never end.
Wow! You guys are awesome! I am so impressed, and I desperately want those bookshelves (the new ones, that is). Very nice work!
The finished product looks phenomenal. Now fix mine? 🙂

Beautiful. I covet thy dining room.
Beautiful! Everything is beautiful! I bet you just walk in that room and sigh. I would, if I were you!
Well, I for one think that the dining room looks great. The shelves were the longest, biggest wood project that I’ve ever made to date (not counting the deck on the back of the house – which took almost as long to build).
September 07 to November 08…
Wow, a lot of stuff happened in that 14+ month time frame. Some good, some seriously bad.
I’m just glad that we have our house back! No more living in the kitchen ALL THE TIME.
Beautiful! It’s all beautiful and I totally have bookcase envy! Glad it’s finally all finished and I hope you enjoy it!
Now stop buying books!
*giggle*
Yeah… I can’t even say that with a straight face!
~ap~
Wow… beautiful colour in the dining room Mrs Spit. Great choice.
and I love the book shelves!
well done!
Oh MY GOSH!!!! It looks incredible! The bookshelves are AWESOME and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the faux finish on the ceiling.
How I wish I had your motivation. . .
