Monday Miscellany

  • I cooked a proper roast chicken meal last night. Used every pot in the house. Whatever I manage to accomplish (or don’t manage to accomplish) this week, there was chicken and mashed potatoes and broccoli with cheese sauce at 6 pm last night. That’s something, that is.
  • Also there was cake. With icing.
  • Mr. Spit went through our cupboard, looking for tea. Anyone who could tell me why I have an entire package of peach something something green tea, please speak up. Did I buy it for guests, who never drank it? Did someone bring it and then never drink it? It is in fact true that random groceries will multiply in dark cupboards? (I’ve always suspected this was happening and would welcome conclusive proof)
  • Still trying to decide what to do for Christmas. I’m actually thinking of doing the dinner early and then disassembling the kitchen to install new flooring and a new tin ceiling and painting. Thoughts?

How long is your Christmas holiday? We get a day off (but since I don’t work on Mondays, I get two 4 day weekends in a row.

    Yum. Roast chicken…

Tin ceiling, paint then floor. We got better at the order of things as we got on and had many more projects under our belts.

I think all that, plus cake, counts as accomplishing for at least a month. Yum!

I’m a Christmas putz. I’d leave everything alone and do it another time. But that’s just me…
