Monday Miscellany

  • My Car! My car! A poor 16 year old failed to shoulder check and she drove right into my car. And yes I’m pleased that no one was hurt and yes they make new cars every day, but this is still going to be a bunch of irritation and extra work for me. I really, really wish that she hadn’t driven into my car.
  • The cop asked me if I thought she was drunk or high when I filed the accident report. I indicated that she might have been high on testosterone – there were 3 17 year old boys in the car with her.
  • In BC it turns out that you aren’t allowed to have more than one youth in the car with you when you have a 2 month old driver’s license. I’m starting to think that this might be a better plan for Alberta.
  • I’m glad it was city driving on a road and not a freeway, and I’m sure that she will never forget to shoulder check again.
  • But my poor car.

Oh dear…. so glad you’re OK! Darned teenagers!!! Oh gawd… sounded a little like my mother just now… 🙂

  2. a says:

Awww. Poor you! Your poor car. 🙁 And the poor teenager, too, I suppose.

Glad it wasn’t worse (and it so easily could have been). LOL re: “high on testosterone.” You are probably right. But I am sorry about your car.

  4. Maureen says:

In my state, you are not allowed to have more than one non-family member in the car if you are driving and under the age of 18. While I rather hated this law when I was say, 14-17, after I was about 25, I have rather agreed with it.

It does stink. And it stinks at how long it takes to even get simple repairs done. And how you really could be doing better things with your time.

    Sideswipe – it’s a four letter word.

I’ll take care of the car starting next week 🙂

Gah!!!! Your poor car!! And yes, there’s a reason they have that rule in BC. Being around friends is just as mind-altering to a teenager as alcohol, I think.

  7. debby says:

I actually had that rule for all of my children long before it was a state law. It’s a good one. I’ve often thought that no good can come from teenagers in herds.

  8. Needles says:

I think they should put that rule in place for me. I’m a much better driver with 0 people in the car. So long as you are ok, that is all the counts. But your poor car.

  9. debby says:

PS…I forgot to commismerate with you on your poor car. I guess this is because I drive a POS and I can’t imagine feeling badly about it. I forget some folks have nice cars.

    YOUR POOR CAR!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. Andie says:

Having seen your lovely car in person …. arrrgggghhhhh. I’m glad all the humans are ok and I hope your wheels get back to you good as new.
