I’m on Fire

On the one hand, it’s a bit strange. It’s a rock song. Detroit steel, first recorded in 1985.

It’s just a rock song. It’s 4 verses. 103 words. (Yes. I counted.)

It’s a bit bewildering. As near as I can tell if you are a Canadian Indie, Blues, Folk, Alt. Country act you are obliged to record this song. Or at least sing it live.

I don’t like the Springsteen version much. It’s just not my thing.

Last night I heard Matt Anderson sing it. I forgot that he covered it. He only does it live, so you wouldn’t necessarily know.

The song – sung well – as he surely did – is absolutely electrifying.

The best part of my week.
